The last that ever she saw him,
Carried away by a moonlight shadow,
He passed on worried and warning,
Carried away by a moonlight shadow…

Katlin Silver Ross
Nickname(s).
Sil, Silver, Silv, Kate, Kat
Age.
20
Gender.
Female
Species.
Gray Wolf, Dire?
Appearance.
As a human Kate was of average height and build, never really catching most people’s attention. She had naturally long brown hair, but instead of the typical brown eyes with the brown hair she had these green/blue eyes, and tended to get teased for them. She wouldn’t have changed them for the world though. She came in to about 5’5” tall and weighed about 120-35 lbs. She wasn’t all that athletic, but could run almost as fast as any track runner. She had a good complexion, delicate nose, and high cheekbones. Her skin tone was pale, and she had these bright red lips that were never really smiling, but never really frowning. She was constantly smiling only with her eyes.
In her current form she is a beautiful creature with pale fur, a longer than average tail, slightly larger ears, and bright blue eyes. She has long and delicate looking legs, and a thin chest. She is thin and slight for a dire, and has the lung capacity to run as fast as she wishes. Her muzzle is thin, and her sharp canines stick out of her maw just a teeny bit. She actually holds her head higher than most wolves, and raises her tail like a flag, but not too high. Her pelt ripples with hints of the gray fur that would make her silver in coloration, and is soft to the touch. Her ears are almost always pointed forward, and she rarely puts them back in anger. She has a darker edge of fur around the edges of her ears and the tips have a little extra fur, making a slight tuft.
Personality.
Silv is a very passionate being, and has very different views from most. She is kind though, and loves almost any animal she comes across. She has a high tolerance for most, but has a fierce temper. It’s hard to invoke her anger though, but when it’s done, she holds it. She is strong with her opinions, and will hold true to them in any fashion that she can. She loves with all her heart, and will be loyal to those whom are loyal back. She had the pack mind before death, and now it’s just in a deeper depth. She has the heart of an alpha, and tends to be thrown into situations she needs to lead. She really doesn’t want to lead anyone, but it seems she is well suited for it. Her personality itself flows together to be caring, fiery, and fun loving, making her easy to get along with, but easy to disagree with as well.
History.
Kate was born the odd one out. She felt that she never fully fit in with her family, and was always put off to the side. She was the youngest, and last in the line of four children, all of them no more than two years apart. She never got anything that was good, and always had the hand-me-downs of her older sibs. She hated her family, and relished everything she could do to oppose them. Though, that wasn’t much. All she had to do was be the good child, and leave the drugs, alcohol, and other nasty things alone.
She did leave the life ruining things alone, and kept to herself. She was lucky, and since she was the only girl still left in the house (She only had one older sister, and she was the oldest. There were six years between the two) she got her own room once her oldest sib got herself shot. They never lived in anywhere that was bad per say… Just, near the bad parts of town. Of course, there weren’t many bad parts of Denver, but where there was, it was almost as bad as New York, so she was told.
When Kat was 10 years old she decided she wanted to start being called by her middle name, instead of her first, and that was what she told all her teachers, and all her (About four) friends. She was very passionate about this, and couldn’t tell a single one of them her reasons why she wanted this change. She just did. Whatever the reason, they obliged though.
About the age of 13 she chose to start volunteering at the local animal reservations, that’s when she started to notice that she had the pack like mind. It was when she worked with the wolves and had the guides tell her about them. She enjoyed the days she volunteered, and when she was able to she applied for a job with the main wolf preservation area. They were happy to let her work, and she was happy to be working for minimum wage. It was better than nothing, and when she saved she would be able to finally get some clothes that were her own.
It didn’t take long to save up enough money and get a couple of outfits that were interchangeable, and fitting for her and her personality. After that, she was able to be a bit more confident with herself. She gained a boyfriend, whom was sweet as could be, and she treated him nice, just as he treated her nice. Eventually it was just her and the last older brother left in the house, the other one having grown enough to go into the military. He went into the army, and left his two youngest siblings alone. They were a little more than a year apart, but their personalities were polar opposites. Where she was pack minded, and caring, he was single minded and thoughtless. She was kind, and he was mean. She hated him. And that was about the only thing they could agree on. When he started to notice that she was changing, he wanted to take that to his advantage.
Late one night, when she was about 17 and he was just over 18, both still in school, he decided that he wanted to have her. Not like a brother either. Luckily, her partner had snuck over, and was there to rescue her. That got her brother put into jail for a couple of years. Her life after that was pretty simple. She was asked to marry her boyfriend, and she told him yes. She was on her way to a nice collage, and had several different scholarships. She was working full time for a few years before she started school again, wanting to get a little more money to be able to live a good life with her love.
One day, she was walking home from her work, she worked at the local bookstore and it wasn’t all that far from her home, she decided that she wanted to stop and look at a few of the neighbors’ flowers. She was fond of the wildlife, and even though these were cultured, she still considered them wildlife. She had forgotten all about that day her brother tried to rape her… And therefore had forgotten that he was recently let out on parole. She didn’t have the keen ears of the animals she loved so much, and therefore, could not hear when a person snuck up behind her in the gathering twilight.
A flash of pain, then nothing, and she was dead.
Lost in a riddle last Saturday night,
Far away on the other side,
He was caught in the middle of a desperate fight
And she couldn’t find how to push through…
